Wow, this really is big news. I wonder if people realize the significance and gravity of a very well respected biblical scholar giving a speech at the National Meeting of The Society of Biblical Literature, which he terms "the premier organization in this field" and flat out telling them that he takes the mythicist position. The ramifications of where that could lead is wonderful. It's about time the mythicist position be taken seriously and given it's due recognition.
